S-sh!

S-sh!

Do you hear her voice?

Do you hear her heart beat –

Racing as though the fast heats of the savanna’s west.

Do you hear her sobs

She cries, deep there_

Deep there, where your walks reaches not

She sobs slowly; silently

Even quieter than the pelican’s hisses

She does not want her children knowing –

That she cries for them:

For their fights

For their sins

For their deaths

For their sicknesses

For their lust, she does not want them knowing

She sobs sorely on their behalf --

To the Master!
